4 Ways to Help You Read More

‘Read more books’ is probably one of the most famous things to be added in to your list of resolution. You may have even reminded yourself 1000 times to actually commit to your resolution and start reading more books. Although you know the benefits of reading, you could not incorporate this habit into your daily schedule and find reading to be a challenging task.

Often, you will think that you have numerous important things to do before you can spend your time on reading. Eventually, when night falls, you will tell yourself that you are so tired to read and decide to hit the bed. Needless to say, you keep procrastinating and eventually you will give up on reading completely.

What people do not know is that, with a little bit of tips and guides, you can definitely start reading more books. Here are the five useful ways to help you read more books.

1. Find Your Purpose.
Before you decide to read a book, ask yourself what you want to gain from reading. Chances are, you will be reading either for knowledge or entertainment. With a clear direction, you will tend to stick to reading as you can simply skip those unnecessary parts and get what you want from that book. Besides, you can retain your interest and probably finish reading the book faster than you think you would.

2. Always Have A Book With You.
It is important to carry your favourite book with you whenever and wherever you are if you want to keep this habit going. When you are waiting in a line or getting to work by public transports, you will less likely to start scrolling your mobile phone to check on your social networks. Instead, you will flip through the book that you bring along and spend your waiting time reading.

3. Set A Reading Goal.
Planning a reading goal helps you to stick to your reading habits. Start by telling yourself to read five pages a day and then slowly progress to more pages. Do not allow yourself to break the chain and it will act as a motivation for you to keep reading every day.

4. Find A Comfortable Place To Read.
It is obvious that reading requires concentration. In order to do that, you need to remove all the distractions away from you. It is also worthy to note that you should read in a quiet environment. How can you focus and understand what you are reading If you are in a noisy area? It is practically impossible with all the external noises around you.
