5 Things You Should Be Grateful For

In today’s materialistic world, people are often busy chasing after fame and gastronomic luxuries. We are too focus on achieving our dreams of living an opulent lifestyle and things that we do not have rather than appreciating things we do have.

“Be grateful for what you have now. As you begin to think about all the things in your life you are grateful for, you will be amazed at the never ending thoughts that come back to you of more things to be grateful for. You have to make a start, and then the law of attraction will receive those grateful thoughts and give you more just like them.” – Rhonda Byrne.

Truth be told, we cannot blame ourselves for behaving in such a way because that is how most of us are raised by our parents. In addition, the society that we live in also plays a major role in our behaviours. We tend to change ourselves for the better that we forget to be thankful for the things we own.

Nonetheless, it is important for us to be grateful for the things we have instead of taking them for granted. While there are countless of things we should be grateful for, here are the top five things that we should be thankful for every day.

1. Your Life.
Without life, you cannot do anything at all. You do not even exist in this world. Life is an invaluable gift. There are so many people yearning for longevity and yet they do not have the chance to live longer due to certain complications, be it accidents or illnesses. You should always be thankful for your life and live it to the fullest.

2. Your Family.
They are your pillars of strength and they are the ones who love you unconditionally. We are here today thanks to our parents who raised us with great patience. You know that your siblings and parents will always have your backs and stand for you when the world is against you. You will always feel at home when you are being with them.

3. Your Friends.
Genuine friends elevate us rather than pull us down. They motivate us to strive in life and improve ourselves in every aspects. Besides, they are the people whom you spend time with the most after your family members. You share inside jokes, sweet memories, not to mention embarrassing events with one another. In fact, it is the quality of friendships rather than quantity that matter the most.

4. Your Health.
Always be thankful for your good health. Having a great health in terms of both body and mind is one of the greatest pleasure that anyone can ever have. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to experience such privilege in life. Be grateful for what you have and take the effort to reach out to the needy.

5. Your Achievements.
Not many people can reach to the place you are right now. You are able to achieve all the goals with sheer determination and hard work all these time. It is a good practice to push yourself beyond your limit so that you can become better. However, you should also acknowledge and be grateful for your achievements occasionally and so that you will be motivated to go further.
