The pen is mightier than the sword. This is undoubtedly true as I am always amazed by the ability of words to form and destroy things easily, especially bonds and relationships. With the ever advancement of the technology, it is not uncommon for us to let our voice be heard by others.

A piece of our writing can be easily accessed by the community in each part of the world with the help of social media, such as Blogspot, Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter and the likes. However, not everyone would comprehend the gist of your writings the same way that you express them. After all, we are but human beings gifted with unique minds and thoughts.

All in all, if you want to start writing, here are the 3 important tips that you should bear in mind. Peruse them.

1. Do Not Count On Writings To Make A Living.
The odds of you surviving through writings are quite slim #realityhurts. Before you even think of resigning and be a full time writer, make sure that you are financially stable and can support yourself for few months without any earning from your published articles. Do not expect a sudden profit from being a freelance writer as it is literally impossible. You need to invest a large amount time and effort to get famous and probably gain some income from your pieces.

2. The only way to improve is keep writing.
Through constant reading and writing, you will definitely be able to brush up your writing skills. Nobody is born with an exceptional skills in writing (perhaps there a few). Writing is not an innate skills, it is actually learn-able! The best way to encourage yourself to write is either by starting a blog or a diary. Start one for yourself and commit to it. The hardest thing to do initially will be to create a habit of writing. Nonetheless, with sheer persistent, you will eventually embed the habit into your daily routine.

3. Complete your work.
We are the uncanny creatures who will take any opportunity to procrastinate. It just happens that this is our nature. You can however, stop procrastinating by setting deadlines for your work. Deadlines can help you to focus on your works and finish them. Besides, you can also reward yourself once you done your tasks as a form of motivations for you to work harder. Also, find a way to stay inspired. It can be reading motivational articles or watching inspirational videos.
