Friendship is important in life. Although friendship is not as one of the basic necessities to survive, we practically depend on it to flourish. The camaraderie between us and our friends is not replaceable by any means. In addition, they influence us to be who we are today. However, maintaining lasting friendships is easier said than done.

Ever since we have graduated from high school, most of us will find it difficult to keep in touch with our friends. It just seems like finding a needle in a haystack will probably be much easier than arranging for a gathering where all of our friends are able to make it. Everyone is literally busy with their own activities and simply do not have time to spare for one another.

Hence, here are four essential tips to making lifelong friends.

1. Be Honest.
It takes trust to form a strong friendship between two people! Always tell the truth to your friends regardless of the circumstances. Be open about your views and thoughts and share what is necessary. Most people tend to favour genuine opinions over fake sweet talks. Your friends will appreciate your honesty and put their trust on you.

2. Connect With Them.
When your friends invite you over for a gathering, join them. If you get a call or text from them, answer it. In order to build a long lasting camaraderie, you should always try to connect with them and agree to any invitations as much as possible. If you often find yourself over-scheduled and unable to attend most meet-ups, you should readjust your priorities and schedules for social interactions.

3. Share Personal Issues.
Life is all about risks taking. Should you feel nervous and worry about sharing personal information with your friends, chances are your friendship will never get any further than mere acquaintance. People are only able to form deep connections when they share their feelings with one another. You have to be willing to risk the camaraderie between two of you. A true friend will feel more connected to you when you share your real thoughts.

4. Make Time For One Another.
It is crucial for you to spend time with your friends. Despite all the activities that you have, always make time for them rather than facing the risks of losing them. Show your friends that you appreciate their presence in your life. Besides, create new memories and experiences with them. Occasionally, send a text or simply make a random call to your friends and ask about their lives and have a chat with them.
