Roommates! All of us have definitely lived with them
in a room under the same roof at least once in our lifetime. You are lucky if
you get a roommate with the same frequency as yours. Otherwise, it may not be a
sweet experience. Roommates are actually awesome people and you like living
with them. However, living with them sometimes can turn out to be a disaster.
Here are the main four reasons you are having difficult times living with your
beloved roommates.
1.
You Do Not Have Privacy.
After spending whole day interacting with friends in university, you can finally go back to your room and recharge yourself in that small bubble of yours alone until you realize that you have a roommate. Forget about your personal space when you are sharing your room with someone else. It just no longer exists.

2.
You Cannot Set Your Own Sleeping And Waking Time.
You feel bad about going to bed when midnight
falls as your roommates are still staying up either doing their assignments or
revision. Being the kind-hearted ones, you will sleep with the lamps on if you
ever live with the night owls because you yourself are aware that reading under
the table lamp is so uncomfortable. While your sacrifice may do well for them,
you are literally torturing yourself by sleeping under that eye-striking
artificial lighting. Similarly, you have to be super quiet when you wake up
early in the morning, fearing that they will wake up because of you.
3. You
Are In An Awkward Position When They Bring Their Friends Over.
When your roommates bring over their friends to
the room, you are in a pretty awkward position. Although you are close with
your roommates, it does not indicate that you are friends with all their
friends. You barely have any idea on how to handle the scene. You do not want
to disturb their time together but at the same time, you do not want to stay
isolated and being treated as a weirdo and an anti-social person.
4.
You Are Living With Someone Else.
Accept the fact that you and your roommates are
different people. All of you come from different backgrounds, raised in various
environments and exposures. It is no doubt difficult to adapt to living with
people who can be completely different than you. Nonetheless, it is worth the
experience. You get to know new people and bond with them. Ultimately, they are
the ones whom you spend most of your time with since you are living in the same
place with them. You will have them to accompany you, be it when you are going
out or even watching movies in the room. At the end of the day, having
roommates is actually a pretty good experience after all.
It would be great to listen to some of your experience or story with all of us. Feel free to comments on below for your interesting experience.
