As
the conventional famous sayings which always goes with “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Some might be worried that
what if you accidentally swallow a bite of rotten apple?
Not
to worry as it does not happen as in our childhood story of how Snow White dead
of sleeping after eating a poisonous apple. It is just a childhood imaginary
and if you were to think consciously, there is huge difference between a
“poisonous apple” and “rotten apple”. So a rotten apple does not actually
caused a fatal death that seriously.
Hence,
to avoid an experience of biting a rotten apple, it is always better to gain
some knowledge on how to choose apples in good conditions.
How to avoid buying a rotten bag of
apples?
There
are several ways of examining apples for it freshness and avoid getting a
rotten one. It could simply goes by smell, sight and feel for its sign of
damaging or spoilage. Of course, not by the ways of biting for the examining if
it is rotten. Unless, the grocery allows you to do so by giving you some
sampling taste.
However,
the apples sells in most groceries comes with a well packaged bags of apples,
which are sealed. With then you have to choose the apples goes by its
appearance observation, and a feel of it whether it is soft or hard. Definitely
not by squeezing the apple too hard which might cause damaged to the apple, and
it will indirectly causes the apple to be rotten fast, even it is in fresh
condition.
A
hard apple might be too dry and less juicy, while a soft apple might be
excessively mushy or rotten. This could be hard to tell the condition of the
apple, but definitely a hard apple is less likely to be rotten one, some are
even with crunchy taste.
Choose by observation of the packaging condition
and date of packaging:
Some
might be questioning that why not go for a smarter way by selecting packages of
apples with fresh packaging date? Yeah! That would be a smart way but not
necessary applies for choosing apples. Even an hour ago packaged apples could
still have a rotten one, as during its packaging, it could be a damaged on it.
Apples surface easily get brown lesions, especially during packaging it hits on
a hard surface by the careless staff. That’s how the saying goes, “one rotten apple spoils the barrel”. Indentations
and bruises on the damaged area of the apple surface will reduce the
availability lasting time span of the apple. Therefore, observe the package for
any obvious signs of spoilage.
